Start south at Cabrillo National Monument for the peninsula view and tide pools, checking the tide before you go; finish at Sunset Cliffs, staying behind the rails and off the sandstone edge.
Or stay on the bay side: walk Shelter Island, choose a fish counter at Point Loma Seafoods or Mitch’s, then graze at Liberty Public Market. Cesarina turns that route into a pasta dinner. The peninsula is spread out, so pick one side first and treat the other as the add-on.
