Work with us.
The San Diego List ranks San Diego by evidence — every place checked against Google and Yelp directly, with the date we checked it printed on the page. Here is what we offer businesses, and what we will never sell.
What is never for sale
Rankings are not for sale
A position on a list is an editorial judgment reached from evidence. It cannot be bought, traded, or influenced by a commercial relationship, and no advertiser sees a ranking before it publishes.
Sponsored content is always clearly labeled
When something is paid, it says so, plainly, where the reader sees it. Sponsorship is a separate product from our rankings and is never dressed up as one.
Hosted visits are disclosed
If a business hosts us, that appears on the page. It does not buy a placement, and it does not change how a place is scored.
Facts get corrected for free, always
Wrong hours, a closure, a changed address, a misspelled name — tell us and we fix it, whether or not we have any commercial relationship with you.
What we do offer
Sponsorship
Clearly labeled placement across the site or in The Shortlist newsletter. Priced by placement, never by rank.
Sponsored features
A labeled piece written to our standards about your business. Held to the same factual bar as everything else we publish; labeled as sponsored throughout.
Events and openings
Tell us what you are launching. We cover openings editorially when they are worth covering — that coverage is not a purchase, but we cannot cover what we do not hear about.
If you only want one thing from us, make it accuracy.
The most valuable thing a business can send us is a correction or a current fact — new hours, a new chef, a menu change, a second location. It costs nothing, it is never treated as a pitch, and it makes the page about you correct. Read the editorial standards for exactly how we verify, or the corrections policy for how we fix things.
