The neighborhood itself
53 verified places · 21 eat & drink and 2 things-to-do listsConvoy is where San Diego crosses cuisines in quick succession: two miles of Kearny Mesa strip malls holding ramen, dim sum, hand-pulled noodles, soju bars, and private karaoke rooms. A Michelin Bib Gourmand shares a parking lot with a tire shop, and that's the whole point. Nothing here is walkable-cute — you drive, you park, you feast, and the best nights end in a karaoke room after midnight.
If you only do 5 things
1Menya UltraramenKnow before you go
Navigation: the best rooms hide inside strip-mall plazas — trust the address, not the storefront
Parking: free lots, but they jam 6–8pm — park at the next plaza over and walk
Tipping: check the bill first — some rooms add a service charge (Nishiki adds 15%)

The index
Ranked places pulled from all 23 listsBite the noodles first and you can tell they were made in house — springy, with enough backbone to hold their shape in a tonkotsu that never thins out on the way to the bottom of the bowl.
Dumpling Inn does one thing and does it at speed: dumplings, plate after plate, with noodles arriving before anyone has finished deciding what else they want.
