Chula Vista is a food trip with three distinct stops, not one walkable strip. Start on Broadway for Tacos El Gordo's adobada, make Third Avenue the stroll for the Sunday farmers market and La Bella Pizza, then drive east when Luscious Dumplings or Lolita's is the point. If you want time outdoors first, take the shuttle to the Living Coast Discovery Center or begin at Sweetwater Park on the bayfront.

Border traffic can slow I-5 and I-805 on weekday commutes, so build dinner around the drive. The Blue Line helps with the western side; Eastlake and Telegraph Canyon still call for a car.
