Start at Julian Pie Company or Mom's Pie House, then choose the one-hour Eagle Mining tour, the five-mile Volcan Mountain out-and-back, or a reservation-only tour at the California Wolf Center. Santa Ysabel makes a quieter cider-and-pie detour if you want one more stop. In winter or rough weather, check Caltrans and park notices before leaving; mountain roads and preserves can change the plan.
